A study of Rila Monastery, with its domes, arcaded courtyard and mountain setting, followed by a closer look at one of the domes and the roofline. The main study combines a Sailor 1911L Ringless fountain pen with muted watercolour washes; the detail is a monochrome study of light, shadow and architectural form.
